Official visit to Japan

The five-day working visit to Japan was tightly packed. The main event was the visit to EXPO 2025 in Osaka, where the President officially opened the Czech National Day on July 24 alongside Princess Takamado of Japan, with performances by the Czech Philharmonic and Cirk La Putyka.

In Hiroshima, the President paid tribute to the victims of the atomic bombing and visited the Atomic Dome, designed by Czech architect Jan Letzel.

One of the highlights of the trip was the audience with Emperor Naruhito, where I had the opportunity to photograph the President within a very limited media pool inside the Imperial Palace.

Throughout the visit we experienced Japan’s renowned hospitality and precision, reflected in the strict ceremonial protocols that accompanied the official program.
